Nathalie Levasseur on Fatigue and Exercise in Patients with Breast Cancer

Video

Nathalie Levasseur, MD, from University of Ottawa, discusses encouraging patients with breast cancer to exercise.

Fatigue during treatment is a reality and that can affect a person’s motivation for exercise. For postmenopausal women, there are additional physiological changes. Levasseur suggests patients start small with exercise, and then increase activity gradually. This is a difficult area for oncology practitioners as well, because of a lack of evidence to guide them.
