Holly Pederson, MD, director of Medical Breast Services, Cleveland Clinic, discusses the unique contributions of nurses on her team.

Nurses bring a wealth of experience in dealing with patients and caring for the whole person. Subspecialists, according to Pederson, may not have the time to provide care for everything a patient may need.

Nurses are also available to patients at the times they need it most and can provide advice on menopausal symptoms, bone density issues, family issues, anxiety and more.
