With telemedicine, doctors can evaluate patients and provide clinical insights or instructions remotely.
In the majority of cases where telemedicine is applied, it is beneficial to have a nurse with the patient to help with the virtual examination. Nurses are able to show parts of the patient’s anatomy to the doctor on camera and can give instructions on how to proceed.
Nurses can also communicate aspects about patients’ conditions that patients may not be able to monitor themselves, such as vital signs.
