Lari B. Wenzel, PhD, University of California Irvine, discusses distress that affects the emotional well-being of survivors.

Although many women can survive for years after ovarian cancer, there are specific fears that can affect a survivor's emotional well-being, including fear of recurrence, fear of future diagnostic tests, and fear of metastases. The more of these fears a survivor experiences, the more distress they may have and the poorer their emotional well-being.
