When a stomach cancer patient fills out an online form on the foundation’s website, they are matched up with a trained mentor: a stomach cancer patient that is further along in treatments, Grush says. These mentors are available to the patient to answer any questions that they may have.
Grush says patients also receive a folder with information on stomach cancer and dealing with the side effects of the treatment and disease.
