Eva Pendleton, LMT, manager, integrative health, Perlmutter Cancer Center at NYU Langone, discusses the benefits of having integrative health practices at cancer centers.

Pendleton says if a patient wants acupuncture or massage therapy to compliment their cancer care treatment, they have to find someone on their own. It can be difficult to find someone who has the right training and expertise to treat cancer-related symptoms.

Pendleton and her team work at the Perlmutter Cancer Center at NYU Langone so patients can feel confident that they are getting the best care possible.

While the idea of having an integrative health center at a cancer center is becoming more popular, it is still not the norm, Pendleton says.
