The National Pancreas Foundation (NPF), a nonprofit organization that provides hope for those suffering from pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer, is pleased to announce the first-annual Washington, DC “Cocktails for a Cure” cocktail fund-raising party on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at The Newseum. This event raises funds to support the NPF’s efforts to finding a cure for all diseases of the pancreas.

Cocktails for a Cure DC will recognize and celebrate the contributions of Dr. Pankaj Pasricha of Johns Hopkins Hospital with the Nobility in Science Award and Dr. Edward D. Purich of ChiRhoClin with the Vision of Hope Award. We will also have the privilege of honoring Allison Sarver, Kimberly Kuchler, and Stephen Martin with Courage Awards, to be presented by Emmy award winning broadcaster Leon Harris. The event will take place at The Newseum, 555 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington, DC 10001 from 6:30 — 9:30 PM.

Founded in 1997, the National Pancreas Foundation is the only organization dedicated to a cure for all diseases of the pancreas. The National Pancreas Foundation provides hope for those suffering from pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer through funding cutting edge re- search, advocating for new and better therapies, and providing support and education for patients, caregivers, and health care professionals. To fulfill its mission, the NPF raises and manages a charitable foundation from which grants are made directly to researchers seek- ing to resolve the challenging medical problems of pancreatic diseases. A National Patient Registry was recently announced for individuals suffering the isolating and debilitating con- ditions associated with pancreatic disease and for the medical community.

We are asking for a donation of $150 per ticket.
