Camille Grammer, Real Housewife of Beverly Hills and one-year survivor of endometrial cancer, will lend her voice and celebrity to raising awareness about gynecologic cancers by serving as Chair of the 2015 National Race to End Women's Cancer to be held Sunday, Nov. 8 in Washington, D.C.

Camille Grammer, Real Housewife of Beverly Hills and one-year survivor of endometrial cancer, will lend her voice and celebrity to raising awareness about gynecologic cancers by serving as Chair of the 2015 National Race to End Women’s Cancer to be held Sunday, Nov. 8 in Washington, D.C.

Grammer, a TV personality and gynecologic cancer advocate, built her team — Camille’s Crusaders – into one of the top teams of 2014. This year she will serve as a survivor/spokesperson on behalf of the Foundation for Women’s Cancer, and will serve as National Chair for its major annual event.

“I am excited and honored to be named Chair of the 2015 National Race to End Women’s Cancer, to help raise awareness about below the belt, gynecologic cancers,” Grammer said. “It’s time to focus on our other lady parts — to save more women’s lives.”

Grammer is a third generation gynecologic cancer survivor; her grandmother had endometrial cancer also, while her mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at 47.

“I am raising awareness in honor of my mother, Maureen Donatacci, who continues to battle her cancer. I want women to learn the symptoms and listen to their bodies, to get an early diagnosis and the best care possible,” Grammer says. “Women should be treated by a gynecologic oncologist as I was; these surgeons specialize in treating reproductive cancers and have the best outcomes.”

More than 95,000 women will be diagnosed with a gynecologic cancer in 2015, and nearly 30,000 will die. Through media interviews, public appearances and social media, Grammer will spread the word and build an even bigger team for the 2015 National Race to End Women’s Cancer. She will invite friends, family and fans to join her in supporting the movement to end women’s cancer.

Founded in 1991, the Foundation for Women’s Cancer is dedicated to raising funds for research and training, and increasing public awareness of gynecologic cancer prevention, early detection and optimal treatment. Visit foundationforwomenscancer.org.
